On December 21st, Coach Nicki concluded her six-month journey and earned her USSF National B License. She now makes the fourth staff member at FIERCE to obtain a B-License, joining Coach Nick, Coach Kamille, and Coach Andy.
Beginning her course in July, Coach Nicki completed over 120 hours of coursework with US Soccer. Throughout the course, she learned from top instructors in STX how to create a safe and development-oriented environment, prepare and execute game plans, and monitor team performance.
Director of Coaching Kamille Cervantes applauded Coach Nicki's efforts as a fellow mom that undertook the USSF National B-Licensing Course:
We are extremely proud of Coach Nicki getting her B-License. Coach Nicki is a full-time teacher at an elementary school, mom of two, and is our Keeper Director while coaching two teams. Taking on a licensing course is daunting enough, but knowing that she accomplished her course along with her other responsibilities is inspiring.
After completing the course and earning her license, Coach Nicki had the following to share about the process:
The B License was challenging but very informative. I look forward to utilizing what I have learned from the course to educate, support and push players to perform at their best.
Her grand feat exhibits FIERCE's mission to not only empower players, but also staff. Coach Nicki now makes the third staff member to earn a B-License with FIERCE's assistance, with several other FIERCE coaches following suit and pursuing their own D-Licenses.
Coach Nicki joined FIERCE in 2020 and currently coaches 08-09G Elite, 09-10G Navy, and all goalkeepers. She has also worked with FIERCE's Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) U21 semi-professional side that competes each summer. On top of these responsibilities, Coach Nicki also serves on the STX Olympic Development Program staff as the Goalkeeper Director. FIERCE is incredibly proud of the strides Coach Nicki has made over her time with the club, and cannot wait to see how the addition of her new B-License impacts her and her players!
