All about Teya: Treasuring soccer teammates and tournaments at the beach
What has been your favorite vacation?
I love going on trips with my team. My favorites are when we go places like the beach. The most memorable was our trip to Oceanside, Calif. It was really fun because we got to go to the beach all together and we played really well during our games.
What are you looking forward to the most in 2025?
I am looking forward to finishing the high school season with my older sister (Mya) and getting to play in California in a few months with her.
What is your favorite possession that didn't cost anything?
I'd say my club and high school teammates.
Tell something about you that most people don't know.
I love working with kids. I am a junior coach, and I try to babysit for kids in my neighborhood anytime I can.
What has been your favorite memory with the McNeil soccer team?
My favorite memories were the team dinners from last season. At one of them we played "capture the flag." My teammate Ally (Weir) and I ran a mile around the entire neighborhood to get the flag and win.
When you were younger, was soccer your only sport, or did you try others?
I played lots of sports when I was younger — basketball, volleyball, track and tennis. But soccer was my favorite because I love my teammates and I was a lot better at it than any other sport I tried.

Has soccer taught you any lessons you apply to daily life?
Soccer has taught me lots of leadership skills and also how to find a healthy balance between soccer and school.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I want to attend the University of Colorado and hopefully play. I would like to major in nursing so one day I can be a (neonatal) nurse.
Dream dinner: Musical group fit for a princess
If you could have dinner with four people in the history of the world, who would they be?
I would have dinner with Princess Diana, Rihanna, (professional soccer player) Sophia Smith and Zendaya.
Why did you pick Rihanna?
I picked Rihanna because I love her music and it is really cool that she runs her own business and is an amazing singer.
You're in charge of the menu. What are you serving?
I would serve Tex-Mex food and lots of queso.
