FIERCE Executive Director Nick Marquez Earns USSF National B License

FIERCE is excited to announce that Coach Nick Marquez has earned his USSF National B Coaching License. Coach Nick began the process in June and completed 2 seperate week-long formative sessions in Frisco, TX - during which he had the pleasure of working with FC Dallas Girls ECNL players during on-field sessions. The course also included 6 months of remote learning and collaboration with thought leaders, club directors, and collegiate staff members from across the country.

FIERCE senior board member Alyssa Studer commented:

This is a really exciting milestone for both the club and Coach Nick! We've already seen the technical and tactical knowledge that he gained through this experience impact our players and coaches in a big way. I truly look forward to seeing how the connections made and relationships developed through this experience will benefit FIERCE moving forward too.

And Coach Nick had the following to say about his experience:

"I'm incredibly grateful for all the awesome FIERCE players, staff, and board members who supported (and tolerated) me along this journey. I feel very blessed to have been in a course with such amazing cohorts and knowledgable instructors who challenged me to step outside of my comfort zone and reflect on areas for improvement. It's always humbling and transformative to share ideas and see the game from new perspectives. My instructor and mentor Paul Thomas was incredible and I can't wait to pay everything he imparted forward to our FIERCE players club-wide."

Club members likely noticed many of Coach Nick's training sessions and match interactions being filmed throughout the fall season, including the summative on-field deliverables that were due at the course's conclusion this December. Several exciting new club initiatives and curriculum enhancements were also introduced as part of this journey.

Countless members of the FIERCE technical staff are also actively pursuing advanced coaching diplomas. Girls Director Kamille Cervantes is nearing the conclusion of her National B License course and 3 other FIERCE coaches recently started their D License coursework. The club is thrilled about the impact this will have on player development.

Coach Nick is the club's Executive Director, having founded the club in 2019. In addition to leading the FIERCE National League program, he serves as the head coach for the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) U21 semi-professional side that competes each summer. Coach Nick had previously completed his US Soccer Federation F, E, D and C licenses in pursuit of this latest credential. He intends to pursue the USSF A License next as part of his continued growth and development.

Please join us in congratulating Coach Nick on this noteworthy milestone!
