FIERCE is proud to introduce Coach Andy Russell as the club's new Select Director. With his addition to the staff, he joins Executive Director Nick Marquez and Director of Coaching Kamille Cervantes as the third staff member with a B-License.
Coach Andy began his coaching career over 10 years ago in the Southwest of Ireland. He started with his local club and secondary school until he progressed to working with Limerick Women’s F.C., a team that plays at the highest level of the women’s game in Ireland.
Eventually, Coach Andy made the trip across the pond and has worked with wonderful players, coaches, and parents in Seattle for the last 4 years.
The FIERCE Board and Staff are ecstatic about Andy's addition, with Alyssa Studer sharing the following:
We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Russell to our senior leadership team as the new FIERCE Director of Select. Coach Andy, who holds a UEFA B certification, brings a wealth of leadership, operational, and administrative experience spanning various age groups and competitive levels. His clear passion for growing the women's game will be a tremendous asset to our rapidly developing player population and our Select staff. We are excited about the unique perspective and expertise he brings from his extensive experience in similar Washington state clubs and high school environments. I am confident that Coach Andy's collaboration with Coach Kamille, Coach Rachelle, and the rest of our team will greatly enhance The FIERCE Way.
Coach Andy also had his own thoughts about his new position:
I’m so excited to join the FIERCE team! It’s amazing to find a club that is committed to challenging the industry standards that exist in youth soccer and puts focus on creating a positive environment for female athletes. Hopefully I can add to this club's exciting legacy and be a part of something truly special.
