Staff Coaches

FIERCE boasts one of the only predominantly female coaching staffs in the country. Most our cohorts have collegiate or semi-pro playing experience. Our entire staff will obtain USSF "D" licenses by January 2020, with FIERCE proud to be hosting one of the nation's first women's-only licensing pathways. Most importantly, all FIERCE staff coaches are successful professionals that serve as strong role models off the pitch as well.

Women's Coaches Cohort Program

"Big Sisters" Impacting Lives On and Beyond the Pitch

We are proud to have attracted amazing vision- and culturally aligned leaders who are passionate about our mission. FIERCE Coaching Cohorts have leadership experience not only as collegiate and professional soccer players, but  as business professionals that inspire our girls to do great things off the pitch as well.

FIERCE Cohorts will impact the lives of 150 remarkable young ladies. We put each group through a culture-building, on-boarding process that includes book groups, extensive shadowing, and activities such as StrengthsFinder. Our coaches are also supported by:

  • A cohort of strong business professionals with impressive soccer pedigrees
  • Fully-funded USSF licensing pathway in a progressive, women's-only model
  • $200 Nike coaches kit, backpack, and gifts
  • Duktig coaching journal and Hudl platform access
  • $10-$20 per hour stipend (based on experience)

Most our paid coaches will partner with another cohort and/or DOC to manage a training pool of 18-24 players. They will have flexibility to collaboratively cover weekend matches. Our hope is that players from 2-3 teams view both cohorts as leaders for their team (as opposed to just a single head coach). All coaches are expected to:

  • Lead (2) 90-120 minute training sessions per week (M/W or T/TH cadence)
  • Manage (1-2) 60-90 minute matches per weekend
  • Review player journals quarterly;  provide semi-annual evaluations
  • Provide weekly match summaries (using club analysis template)
  • Collaborate with TM and utilize TeamSnap to keep parents informed

Our DOC will create session plans and attend >80% of training to provide leadership and support. Coaches seeking more can work closely with DOC and football director to influence curriculum and develop technical sessions. Cohorts are also encouraged to complete the following as time permits:

  • Match analysis and player assignments via the Hudl platform
  • 1v1 player meetings and informal evaluations throughout the season
  • Coordinate with TM to plan team-building and support other FIERCE teams

If you or someone you know is interested in a cohort position with one of our upcoming start groups, we'd love to hear from you!

Want to Help?

Tell us why you'd be a great addition to the FIERCE Family. We are always actively seeking coaching cohort candidates, advisors, and committee members.

Collaborative Coverage

Cohorts work in pairs to collaboratively cover training sessions and matches. They'll be supported by DOC and volunteer assistants and can coordinate as needed to cover match responsibilities. The goal is for FIERCE girls to view both coaches as their lead mentor. Cohorts will be eligible for the maximum stipend upon obtaining USSF "D" license and proving capable of leading matches and training independently.
